WCROC Horticultural Garden After visiting the Childrens Garden, cross the road to visit the WCROC Horticultural Garden, an All-America Selections display site since 1990. Gardens and displays include the Wes Gray Backyard Garden, Roger and Barbara Larson Garden, Hardy Shrub Rose Garden, Heritage Garden, Shady Hosta Garden, Lady Slipper Display, Perennial Garden, Chrysanthemum Garden, Water Garden, Hanging Basket Display Annual Flower Gardens, Woody Plant Arboretum, and Changing Theme Garden. There are also many horticultural research projects on site.Other agricultural research is ongoing around the WCROC with programs in dairy, swine, soils, water quality, agricultural economics, renewable energy and crops. Pomme de Terre River Walking Path Take a stroll on the Pomme de Terre River Walking Path that runs along both sides of the Pomme de Terre River just west of the West Central Research and Outreach Center. Native wildflowers can be seen along the length of the path. There are also two gazeboes along the trail. The Stevens County Master Gardeners, Morning Sky Greenery and UMM students teamed up to provide a display of wildflowers at the north end of the west river side of the path. The east river side of the path has been extended to enter directly into the west end of the WCROC Horticulture Garden. Walking and Biking Path
US Fish and Wildlife Service (Wetlands Office) There is both a driving loop with interpretive displays and a walking path with an observation deck to visit. The path winds through native prairie and past wetland areas. It is located approximately three miles east of Morris on County Road 10. University of Minnesota-Morris Stop at the West Central School of Agriculture Alumni Gardens located between the Minority Resource Center and the Education Building on the University of Minnesota Morris Campus. While on campus, check out the current art exhibit at the Humanities and Fine Arts Building Gallery. Stop in the Science Building Atrium to get a close-up look at a live Boa Constrictor and Ball Python. National Prairie Passage Route A national prairie wildflower route between the North Star State (Minnesota) and the Lone Star State (Texas) primarily along back roads and highways where remnant prairie vegetation can be found.
