Prairie Garden
x

Purpose -
The prairie garden features prairie grasses native to this area. Much of the midwest was once covered by prairie grasses. Today much of our native prairie has disappeared. Less than 1% of the original native Minnesota prairie remains.

Attraction -
The attraction in this garden is a large stump table and two stump chairs. The table is painted with a checkerboard square. Rocks have been painted to make ladybug and bee playing pieces.

More Info -
What was this area like as the settlers arrived?
A tall grass prairie covered the area. Prairie children had few possessions. They made their own fun with natural materials.
