Bird Garden
x

Purpose -
The purpose of the bird garden is to attract many different types of birds. The trees, shrubs, grasses, and flowers all attract birds by providing shelter or food. There are also benches to relax and enjoy the plants as well as the birds that visit the garden.

Attraction -
A trellis and seated arbor have been constructed to make a partially hidden spot for children to sit while observing the bird activity in the garden. A copper drip birdbath donated to the garden provides the sound of moving water, a natural attraction for birds.

More Info -
Do you know how to attract birds to your backyard?
The recent interest in attracting birds to our yards is evident by the increasing popularity of bird feeding, but there are other ways to encourage birds to nest in your yard. Landscaping that supports the birds you want to attract is a great way to start. Your landscape plan should cover four basic needs:

  • food
  • water
  • shelter
  • space

When selecting trees, shrubs, vines or plants it is helpful to know those species that the birds prefer.
